The days may be getting shorter, but New Zealand’s only all-magic-and-mystery show keeps growing. The Monthly Mystery returns to the Fringe Bar in Wellington on 14 April 2016, at 7 pm.
“T.S. Eliot called April the cruellest month, but I’m actually quite excited about it,” says Mountebank Entertainments’ Mike Kay. “The Monthly Mystery has some incredible performers lined up, ones who can’t wait to bring the performing art of magic to people. That shared enchantment – that connection – that’s what it’s all about.”
The April show features:
- The marvellous magic of Anton Van Helden;
- Artistic magic from Chelfyn Baxter
- Wellington’s wunderkind Reuben Tyrie;
- The comedy-magic stylings of Kade Nightingale & Jeremy Rolston;
- …and hosting by the mysterious Mike Kay.
Kay feels the time of year will factor into the show as well. “Now that autumn is here and longer nights encroach, a bit more darkness is a good thing. I feel that mystery abounds in the darkness. It’s not a reason to be scared, it’s a reason to celebrate all the wonder that surrounds us.”
Tickets are $15, available online at http://www.eventfinda.co.nz/. If the show has not sold out, there will be door sales.
